Immune System

Immune System-1

Immune System

When pathogens like viruses, bacteria, parasites, etc. enter the body, the immune system is responsible for combating these invaders and protecting the body from harm.

When a pathogen enters the body, it is recognized as foreign by the immune system. Immune cells, especially phagocytes and T cells, identify and capture the pathogen's antigens. The captured antigens are presented to other immune cells, including B cells. B cells, upon recognizing the antigens, produce specific antibodies tailored to target those pathogens. Antibodies then bind to the antigens on the pathogen's surface, flagging them for destruction by phagocytes or triggering the complement system.
